Now... I think it's safe to say that I am quite a fan of River Cottage, and the River Cottage 'Veg Everyday' series inspired me to come a vegetarian / pescetarian this year (and I have the book). There are many benefits of becoming a veggie, or just eating less meat. One of which is that to produce a kilo of meat, a huge amount of water is needed, another is that during it's lifetime an animal emits a lot of Carbon Dioxide into the atmosphere.

So here is Hugh talking about River Cottage 'Veg Everday'

PANTS TO POVERTY!!!

I LOVE this company, to be honest who doesn't love colourful pants that are made ethically!? I know they may seem a bit expensive, but remember the great quality cotton they are made from and also the great things you will be doing for the producers in India, who are being treated fairly.

Clothes!

There are some amazing clothes that are eco friendly and fairtrade, and still look good. i must admit some eco friendly clothes are pretty wacky and “out there” but these are pretty good!

Our Earth's issues

Global Warming

At the moment Global Warming is a major problem that affects everyone around the world, and sadly the poorest people are the worst affected. Now, you might say “Global Warming is untrue because global temperatures have been changing for years”, but I want to stress that we as humans are changing temperatures through emitting huge amounts of CO2, and the scary thing is that there is a tipping point. This tipping point is the result of the work of scientists who have predicted that the point at which Climate Change will be irreversible is 450 ppm (parts per million) in the atmosphere. In 2011 we are already at 400 ppm and it is rising fast, so something needs to be done if we don’t want to be gripped by Global Warming.
